About

A field guide for the people who build the industrial world

EPC Softwares maps the software behind engineering, procurement and construction: the plant models, schematics, simulators, schedules, document systems and digital twins that carry a project from first line to handover.

What we cover

80 products from 38 vendors across 12 categories today, from global platforms to open-source tools. Each product is catalogued as a plate: what it does, who makes it, how it is deployed and licensed, which open standards it documents, and the sources behind each fact.

How we work

We read primary sources first (vendor documentation, investor filings, release notes and standards bodies) and say when we could not. News is dated by the event and by our publication. Assessments follow a published methodology, and every score is labelled as an editorial reading of public evidence.

Independence

No vendor pays for placement, scores or coverage. Product names and trademarks belong to their owners and are used only to identify the software we discuss.

Why it looks like this

The design borrows from the drawing office and the laboratory: patent-plate line art, a 3·6·9 grid, Lissajous figures for categories and a galvanometer for scores. The night-lab theme glows; the patent theme prints. Both carry the same information, with or without JavaScript.
