Hexagon completed the distribution of its software subsidiary Octave to shareholders on 28 May 2026, according to Hexagon's investor relations site. Octave is now a separate public company, and Hexagon has no continuing ownership interest in it.

Octave's Class B shares trade on Nasdaq in New York under the ticker OCTV, and Swedish depository receipts, each representing one Class B share, trade on Nasdaq Stockholm as OCTV SDB. Hexagon's shareholders approved the separation on 24 April 2026.

Octave brings together Hexagon's former Asset Lifecycle Intelligence business (the home of the plant design, schematics, materials and engineering information software formerly sold under the Intergraph and HxGN names) with the Safety, Infrastructure & Geospatial business and the ETQ and Bricsys businesses. The company, Octave Intelligence plc, is incorporated in Ireland, has its principal executive offices in Madison, Alabama, and employs about 7,200 people in more than 45 countries.

Octave has since renamed the former Hexagon engineering products: Intergraph Smart 3D is now Octave Forte 3D, and CAESAR II is now Octave Aspect Pipe Stress, among others. The EPC Softwares catalogue lists each product under its current name with its former names kept on the plate.
