Cost Estimating
Estimating software turns scope into cost at each stage gate: parametric and factored estimates in early phases, then quantity-based estimates priced with labour, material and equipment rates as engineering matures. Good tools keep estimates traceable to their basis, compare scenarios and feed budgets into project controls, so the estimate becomes the baseline rather than a spreadsheet that is filed away.

How to choose
Choose for the estimate classes you produce most. Conceptual, model-based estimating and detailed, crew-based bid estimating need different engines, and few products are equally strong at both.
Ask how historical data is captured and reused. Benchmarks from completed projects are the main source of estimating accuracy, and the tool should make that loop easy.
Check the hand-off to project controls: whether the estimate structure maps to your cost breakdown and work breakdown structures without rework.
