Process Simulation

Process simulators solve the heat and material balances that every downstream discipline depends on. Steady-state simulation sizes equipment and sets the design basis; dynamic simulation tests control strategies, start-up and relief scenarios and can be extended into operator training. Thermodynamic models and component databanks decide how far results can be trusted, from refinery and gas processing to chemicals, LNG and energy-transition processes.

§ 02

How to choose

Match the thermodynamics to your process. Property packages, electrolyte and solids handling, and validated component data matter more than the interface; ask for references in your own process families.

Decide whether you need dynamics. If control-system checkout, relief studies or operator training are in scope, a simulator with a shared steady-state and dynamic model saves rebuilding work later.

Consider who else touches the model. Licensors, clients and partners may require a specific simulator, and data exchange with plant design and cost estimating can shorten front-end engineering.
